Wind-Storm School of the Classical Samurai Warrior Arts in Liverpool

Liverpool Kaze Arashi Ryu was established in 1986 by Sensei Ian Griffiths, a student of Sensei Kirby Watson (Menkyo)

Liverpool Kaze Arashi Ryu train two nights a week, Tuesday and Friday.

On Tuesday night training concentrates on Aiki Ju Jutsu and Atemi Jutsu. These are the unarmed arts of Kaze Arashi Ryu, they include strikes, blocks, body positioning, grappling, controls, strangles, throws and much more.

On Friday nights training focuses on the weapons arts of Kaze Arashi Ryu. Jo Jutsu is the art of staffs, the Kaze Arashi Ryu student learns to use staffs of various length, usually between two and six feet long. Ken Jutsu is the study of bladed weapons, this includes the weapon most commonly associated with the Samurai, the Katana (Japanese long sword). Ken Jutsu also covers the use of the Japanese short sword and dagger (Shoto and Tanto).

The Dojo is run by Sensei Najebe Muflahi and Sensei Jon Melvin, who share the teaching and administration responsibilities of the dojo.
